Ö. Hakan Emmez, M.D.

Professor Hakan Emmez was born in Ankara in 1974. Following his graduation from the Gazi University in 1999, he has completed the Neurosurgery residency education at School of Medicine, Gazi University in 2005. He is awarded the Doctorate degree of Neuroscience in 2013.

He also attended various educations and trainings in various areas of neurosurgery at Karolinska Institute (Sweden), Hallamshire Hospital (Sheffield - UK), International Neuroscience Institute (INI – Beijing) and Pittsburgh Medical Center.

He gad the European Neurosurgery Board certificate in 2014.

He is still working at Neurosurgery Department of School of Medicine, Gazi University and the Gamma Knife Center of the Gazi University. He is also working part time at Ankara Medicana International Hospital.

Dr. Emmez deals with neuro-oncology, radiosurgery, spine surgery and cerebrovascular diseases.

He authored more than 60 articles published in international journals and he is editor of three books.

Dr. Emmez is the head of the Turkish Neurosurgery Board and the deputy editor of the Turkish Neurosurgery Journal. He is still the head of the International Basic Neurosurgery Course (IBNC).
