The most common reasons of admissions to the psychiatry outpatient clinic are depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, obsessive and compulsive disorder, sleep disorders, adjustment problems, exam anxiety, psychosocial crises, diseases associated with physical complaints secondary to stress (psychosomatic diseases), marriage problems and sexual issues. They are followed by rarer conditions; schizophrenia characterized by improper interpretation of reality; similar psychotic disorders; and alcohol, smoking and drug addiction.
