The most common admissions to neurology outpatient clinic include headache, movement diseases and Parkinson’s disease as well as stroke secondary to cerebral hemorrhage or vascular occlusion, epilepsy, neural involvements (neuropathies) of diabetes mellitus and other diseases, muscle diseases, sleep disorders, other diseases associated with memory impairment, especially including Alzheimer, and speech disorders, multiple sclerosis, postural imbalance and dizziness caused by various diseases.
The services offered at our clinic include everyday outpatient services as well as diagnosis and treatment of neurological emergencies. To that end, all necessary technical infrastructure and medical staff is kept ready for action at all times in all areas of our hospital including the emergency department, intensive care unit and inpatient wards. Our neurology clinic is committed to offer quality medical service in collaboration with the Emergency Department, Radiology Units and Neurosurgery Clinic working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our clinic is equipped with an electroencephalography (EEG) machine and electromyography (EMG) machine with evoked potential monitoring. EEG is used to record the electrical activity generated by the brain to diagnose and eventually treat various neurological disorders, notably epilepsy, whereas EMG is a diagnostic method that guides the diagnosis and treatment of nerve compressions, nerve damage, lacerations, polyneuropathies and muscle diseases.
There is also a sleep lab in our department, where we diagnose sleep disorders on a wide spectrum such as sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and much more.
